Dr. Kimberley Evans is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She received her medical school training at the University of Florida followed by her medical residency and fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. After completing her training, Dr. Evans returned to her home state of Florida in 2002. She has been providing medical care to geriatric patients in the North Pinellas area since that time. Over the past 12 years she has cared for patients in the traditional outpatient setting, independent and assisted living settings as well as skilled nursing and hospital settings. Dr. Evans' goal is to provide continuity of care to geriatric patients during their later stages of life.
"Perhaps the most challenging obstacle for an older individual who has fallen ill is the lack of continuity of medical care."
Geriatric patients may have several doctors during the hospital stay, another doctor and several therapists during the skilled nursing stay followed by home health nurses and therapists with very little coordination of the medical care as they transition from one setting to another.
